Alexander Lausch
I'm an audio engineer, producer and musician. I've run my own studio since 2007, and since 2010 it has been in its current space in Vienna's 17th district. I hear a production both as an engineer and as a musician.
- since 2003audio engineer
- since 2007own studio
- five bandsas guitarist and bassist
Background
- 2003: graduated in audio engineering from SAE Institute Vienna, thesis on audio networks
- 2003 to 2007: freelance studio and live work, including at Szene Wien, B72 and Metropol, plus technical support for the label LiMuPic
- 2007: founded my own studio, listencareful AUDIOproduction
- 2010: opened the studio rooms in Vienna's 17th district
- 2010 to today: most of the 944 productions in the catalog, plus many years of live work
- 2022: "Teilzeitromantik" by Josh., which I co-mixed, was nominated at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards for the Tonstudio Preis Best Sound and for Album of the Year
- 2025: "Teilzeitromantik" went platinum
Those years gave me most of my studio experience and brought me many of the musicians I still work with today. Along the way I gained reliable partners: producers in Switzerland and Germany who regularly send productions here for mixing or mastering. My work is split fairly evenly between recording, mixing and mastering. Now and then I take on live recordings, and once or twice a year I do live sound for bands I'm friends with.
How I work
I work calmly and meet deadlines. That's why I often get called in when a production has gone off track and needs rescuing, or when the requirements are unusual.
What matters most is open communication. I say early on what's possible and what isn't, so things don't go wrong in the first place. And if something does, there's a plan B that's been on the table from the start.
As a musician
